Troop Leadership Development
BSA Troop 174 scouts who have completed two years with the troop and have earned the First Class Rank qualify to apply to be invited to attend Troop Leadership Development (“TLD”) in July. Scouts attending this three-day hike will be trained in extensive scouts skills, leadership, and management training. The scouts that complete TLD training form a pool of leadership candidates for the coming scout year. The patrol leaders and other troop leadership positions are filled by selecting scouts from that candidate pool.
